Indiatourism Mumbai, reinforces the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative.
Indiatourism Mumbai, reinforces the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, is a special theme, spearheaded by the Govt. of India under the guidance of the PMO, Prime Minister’s Office. The objective is clear, it aims to have a cross cultural exchange of thoughts, knowledge etc between the diverse states of India. The aim is to have a cross cultural exposure between partner states, namely Maharashtra is partnered with Odisha, Manipur with Madhya Pradesh etc.
The Indiatourirsm Mumbai office, under the leadership of Shri Venkatesan Dhattareyan, regional director (West, Central & South), has taken up some concrete initiatives to activate the theme in the region. In this interview, he shares his views and the also the work conducted by the Indiatourism Mumbai office. He believes firmly, that the diversity of the country should be well known and each state should know about the other very well as we are a part of this hug vibrant country called India. From traditions, culture, food habits, dialects should be known and experienced. The office, has given the concept a much worthy tourism flavour.
Can you shed some light on the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative? Under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat initiative, we not only aim at creating awareness about the states through various outright programmes, but we also relate it with travel. We invited the tour operators from Gujarat, rather we hosted them, with the help of Chhattisgarh tourism in Chhattisgarh. E conducted B2B sessions, roadshows, etc and then took them on a FAM trip. Similarly, we invited the tour operators from Manipur to Madhya Pradesh (MP), Indore, where we conducted a domestic tourism road show, on the theme of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Post the networking session, all the invited tour operators from Manipur and other states like Maharashtra and other parts of MP, went on a Fam tour around MP, Maheshwar, Omkareshwar, and other parts around Indore, including the Indore sightseeing.
