Self-Drives take a completely new meaning when one speaks of Offroading or Extreme Overlanding (XOL). These are travel experiences for the truly discerning traveller who is ready to shake up from one’s comfort zone. Nagaland is ready to offer its real and rustic trails for such thrilling and transformational travel experiences. At a recently held media event at the CM’s office, the Chief Minister (CM) of Nagaland flagged off the launch media drive, setting the tone for a first of its kind travel experience in the world of adventure travel. Addressing the press conference, the CM of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio said that this project the Nagaland Offroad initially felt like a challenge as the very concept from planning to implementation itself is highly demanding. However, he was all praise toward the primary curators and designers of the product, the company WBB- Wander Beyond Boundaries.
Kitto Zhimomi, Commissioner & Secretary Tourism – Government of Nagaland, showed complete faith in the plan and the possibility to activate such a groundbreaking initiative for his State. The Nagaland Offroad is an example of a public-private synergy that resulted into launching India’s first 4X4 Guide, website and App.
The guide has been authored by Anurag Mallick & Priya Ganapathy and it consists of all precise details of the possible 4X4 trails from easy to extreme, minutely researched and recced by team WBB. From Nahi Sakega (not possible) to Sakega (possible), the entire journey has been a dream come true for Nidhi Salgame, founder and director – Wander Beyond Boundaries (WBB) who is the project lead and executor. She proudly says that this project has been a dream and seeing it unfold has been extremely fulfilling. She along with her competent team have worked non-stop, committed to the cause.
