The ministry of tourism also revisited its domestic tourism market development assistance scheme, where financial assistance to approved tour operators for undertaking tourism promotional activities has increased. Earlier it was just 30,000 rupees but now it has been increased to 1 lakh 35 thousand per trip. They are allowed to do 3 visits in a year, which will include air travel, participate in the travel trade exhibitions, for having booths at these places and for also attending conferences and conventions. Another major highlight is the support of Rs 50,000 per year, per operator, for digital marketing. The India tourism office both in the western and southern regions have continuously engaged with operators. Almost 20 such outreach programmes happened between June, July, until date. It’s an ongoing programme, wherein presentations were made, where the staff and owners were encouraged to apply for ministry of tourism recognition. On the side-lines, we also encouraged Incredible India’s tourist facilitators certification programme, which is an online learning system, developed by the ministry of tourism.
